Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has visited various areas of flood-affected Nuwakot district and carried out on-site monitoring and inspection. Wagle had reached Bidur, the headquarters of Nuwakot, on Saturday morning. In Bidur, he reached the ‘Relief and Rescue Command Post under the leadership of the Nepal Army and inquired about the rescue and relief works being carried out .
Major General of the Nepal Army, Ranjit Thapa, who is leading the rescue operation, said that effective work is being done in the rescue and relief of the flood victims. He said that the rescue of the missing people has been given first priority and the rescue of people trapped in the tunnels of various hydropower projects has been given high priority. Thapa said that the center is also working on the distribution of temporary shelter, food and other types of relief to the displaced people. He also said that there is an urgent need of a bailey bridge in the flood-affected areas.
Finance Minister Dr. Wagle said that there would be full support and cooperation from the government in rescue, treatment and rehabilitation of and urged the Nepal Army not to feel the lack of anything and to call for any kind of assistance on time.
After this, Finance Minister Wagle inspected the Air Rescue Center and Relief Materials Collection and Distribution Center at the Barracks of the Nepal Army . Immediately after this, he met the families of the victims who were searching for their relatives at the Nepal Army Rescue Center and listened to their problems .
The family members of their family members who are trapped in various hydropower projects in Nuwakot and Rasuwa have drawn the attention of Finance Minister Wagle for their rescue. Quoting a briefing from the Nepal Army, the Finance Minister said that the rescue of the people trapped in the tunnel is the top priority and urged the Nepal Army and other security personnel to trust the Nepal Army and other security personnel to rescue the family members.
After this, Wagle visited the flood-ravaged Dhunge Bazaar, Devighat Bazaar, Galchhi-Rasuwagadhi ( road section, the damaged concrete bridge connecting Devighat and Jiling, the Ayurvedic Center at Pipal tar and the holding center at Chandra Jyoti School.
