Kathmandu. A person has been arrested for stealing gold ornaments from the corpse (body). On Wednesday, 2 people have been arrested for stealing gold ornaments from the corpse swept away by the floods in Bhotekoshi.

The arrestees have been identified as Madan Gurung, 25, of Binay Triveni Municipality-1 of Nawalparasi and Umesh Chaudhary, 38, of Sunsari, currently living in Chitwan. According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, further investigation into the case has been underway.

Police said they were arrested after avideo of them pulling gold ornaments went viral, police said.

In the viral video, two men dragged the body to the shore and pulled gold ornaments around their ears and neck. The video went viral on social media. After the video went viral, pressure was created by MPs and citizens to arrest them . Eventually, the police arrested the two men.
