Goods worth Rs 79.54 billion exported via Birgunj border point

Kathmandu. Goods worth Rs 79.54 billion have been exported to foreign countries through Birgunj border point in the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

According to the Birgunj Customs Office, imports amounted to Rs 10.19 billion or 15 per cent more in the same period of the current fiscal year compared to the nine months of the previous fiscal year. Whereas in the first nine months of the last fiscal year, goods and goods worth Rs 69.35 billion were exported to foreign countries.

Uday Singh Bista, information officer of the Birgunj Customs Office, said that exports through this border point have increased by 15 percent in the current fiscal year. Soybean oil worth Rs 43.61 billion has been exported through this border point in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. Whereas in the same period of the last fiscal year, soybean oil worth Rs 36.62 billion was exported.

Fruit juice worth Rs 5.84 billion was exported to foreign countries in the first nine months of the current fiscal year compared to Rs 5.77 billion in the same period of the last fiscal year.

Similarly, refined palm oil worth Rs 5.24 billion was exported in the first nine months of the current fiscal year, compared to Rs 590 million in the same period of the last fiscal year. In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, refined palm oil worth Rs 5.05 billion was exported, compared to Rs 6.61 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year. In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, various types of garments worth Rs 2.69 billion were exported. Similarly, synthetic yarn worth Rs 1.94 billion was exported in the first nine months of the current fiscal year, according to Birgunj Customs.
