Kathmandu. SajhaYatayat is to start night bus service in Kathmandu Valley from April 1 from April 1 . The service will be operated from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm and will be operated by seven buses in the beginning.
In the first phase, the night bus service will be operated from Lagankhel of Kathmandu Valley to Budhanilkantha, from Budhanil kantha to , from Thankot to Airport and from Airport to Thankot through shared transport through sharedtransport.The bus will be available at an interval of every 20 minutes.
Southern route Lagankhel to Patan Hospital, Alka, Norvic, Maternity Hospital, Trauma Center, Bir Hospital, Kanti Hospital, Teaching Hospital and Budhanilkantha will be operated from Lagankhel to Patan Hospital, Alka, Norvic, Maternity Hospital, Trauma Center, Bir Hospital, Kanti Hospital, Teaching Hospital. Similarly, the bus returning from Budhanilkan tha will reach Lagankhel via Maharajgunj, Panipokhari, Lazimpat, Jamal and Thapathali.
Buses will be operated from Thankot to Satungal, Kalanki, Kalimati, Tripureshwor, Sundhara, New Road, Jamal, Baneshwor and to International Airport on the East-West route.The return bus will reach Thankot from the airport via Tinkune, Minbhawan, Babarmahal, Thapathali and Thankot. The new road area will be made a main transit point, from where commuters will be able to change routes.
Each bus will be fitted with4 CCTV cameras while the Kathmandu Metropolitan City ( KMC) will deploy one city police in each bus.
Acting Chief According to Dangol’s of the service after the initial 3 months of operation its impact will be evaluated and further improved and expanded. The night bus service is expected to help workers, women and those working in the night to travel in a safe and smooth manner.
